amy over at humble musings brought my attention to this article. while at least most of what i read isn't something i would automatically accept hook, line, and sinker, i found this quote to be particularly intriguing.
"As Catholics we know that spiritual truth is mediated through material things. And I think what this implies is that there are no empty gestures, that everything counts and everything is connected in ways that we don't always appreciate."
i would hope that would apply to all us Christians. after all, isn't that largely what the sacraments are about - outward signs of inward realities, etc?
just a thought...
a bunch of rambling thoughts, many of which relate to hymns and songs, theology and books, movies and tv, food and fashion, politics and the drama that is my life, but nothing really makes a consistent appearance except pictures.
